April: You Have Been The Best!
What an absolutely fantastic and successful month it's been—and on the whole, what beautiful weather!
The sunshine has lifted the hearts of farmers across the UK, especially after last year’s endless rain. In fact, we even found ourselves hoping for a bit of rain to water the flowers… and it arrived just at the right time!
Of course, sunshine brings its own challenges too—blooms come thick and fast, and timing is everything, especially when it comes to event flowers. But we’re no strangers to multitasking on the farm!
A Good Friday Wedding at Tyn Dwr Hall

Ellen had the honour of creating florals for a beautiful couple's wedding at the stunning Tyn Dwr Hall this Good Friday. Our bespoke wedding process starts with a simple enquiry and evolves into a collaborative journey—usually with a dedicated WhatsApp group connecting the couple (and sometimes family) directly with Ellen.
Inspiration flows through shared photos, chats about themes, palettes, and venue style, all while embracing the seasonal rhythm of our flowers. Couples are encouraged to browse Ellen’s social media to get a feel for her aesthetic. Every element, from backdrops to centrepieces, is carefully considered. The final details come together around six weeks before the big day, often with some delightful last-minute surprises from the fields.
Our goal? To make the floral reveal feel magical.
Easter Weekend: Blooms, Community & Connection
The long Easter weekend was our busiest yet—and we loved every moment!
Easter Saturday took us to Nantclwyd y Dre, a historic timber-framed gem in the heart of town. Our “Build-a-Bunch” stall invited visitors to create their own arrangements—hands-on, interactive, and joyful. We’re also helping develop their gardens with more cut flowers, a new and exciting partnership.
Easter Sunday brought us to the Artisan Market at Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in the beautiful Conwy Valley. Their strong focus on sustainability and local sourcing mirrors our own ethos.

We’ve found these pop-up “Build-a-Bunch” events to be a perfect fit for us—interactive, educational, and so much fun. They give people the chance to connect with flowers in a personal way, learn about our sustainable growing methods, and even get inspired to grow their own. Ellen especially loved meeting many of you who follow her journey online—thank you for stopping by!
International Women’s Day: Honouring Inspiring Women
In March, we asked you to nominate the inspiring women in your lives—and your stories truly moved us. We couldn't choose just one winner, so we celebrated three incredible women:
A selfless aunt who raised her sister’s children after her passing.
A resilient woman overcoming profound loss and injury, now running and cross-training with renewed strength.
A local Pilates teacher, nominated for her dedication to community health and wellbeing.
It was an honour to surprise them with bouquets—small gestures of beauty for big hearts.

In the Spotlight: BBC Radio Wales Interview
We were thrilled to be featured on BBC Radio Wales' Country Focus over Easter! The episode, titled “Growing Flowers Sustainably,” offers a lovely behind-the-scenes look at our life on the flower farm.

Garden Tasks for May
Harden off seedlings: Gradually acclimatise indoor-grown plants before planting out.
Direct sow hardy annuals: Try cornflowers, nigella, and calendula for summer colour.
Plant out tender flowers: Once frost has passed, get dahlias, cosmos, and zinnias into beds.
Pinch out tips: Encourage bushy growth on sweet peas, cosmos, and antirrhinums.
Mulch & feed: Boost young plants with compost mulch and a balanced liquid feed.
Succession sow: Keep sowing quick growers like cosmos every 2–3 weeks.
Watch for pests: Stay ahead of slugs and aphids—especially on new growth.
