As August draws to a close, we’re feeling both the fullness of the season and the first hints of autumn on the horizon. The fields are still bursting with blooms, weddings and events have kept us wonderfully busy, and we’ve been sowing the seeds (literally and figuratively!) for an exciting autumn ahead.
Blooms & Brunch at Nantclwyd y Dre
Earlier this month, we hosted our Blooms & Brunch workshop at Ruthin’s oldest house, and what a memorable day it was. Blessed with scorching weather, guests relaxed under the brand-new Nantclwyd gazebos (thank goodness for the shade they provided) and created hand-tied bouquets with freshly cut flowers from our farm, before sitting down to a gorgeous afternoon tea prepared and served by The Sorbus Tree.
We were lucky enough to have the event photographed by Alex Morgan Photography, who captured some truly spectacular moments — and the delicious food! We’ll be sharing these images across our social channels over the coming weeks for you to enjoy.
A real highlight of the day was the guided tour of the house and gardens by Kate, Manager of Nantclwyd y Dre. Her knowledge and storytelling brought the history of the house to life, making the day feel even more special.

We received a lovely review from one of the guests, Diana:
"It was such a lovely day yesterday. It was all quite magical, the flowers were beautiful, the food was exceptional, and Nantclwyd itself is a very special place. Diolch, Diana”
Weddings: Kara & Sion at Soughton Hall
August has been filled with weddings, each one unique and joyful to be part of. A particular highlight was Kara & Sion’s wedding at Soughton Hall. Their warm colour palette was stunning, and the dahlias sourced from Lima Gardens in rich late-summer tones were breathtaking.
Even more special was the feeling of community that day. As a young business, it’s incredible to arrive at a wedding and see familiar faces — photographers, make-up artists, and other creatives we’ve worked with before. It feels like we’re becoming part of a wider wedding community, and it’s such a privilege to contribute to these celebrations alongside people we know and trust.
We shared the photos taken by Nathan Roberts Photography as well as the video made by Mathew Lloyd Film on our socials. It’s so fantastic to see our flowers documented by such talented professionals. Here are some of our favourite images captured by Nathan.

Creative Collaboration at Nantclwyd y Dre
We also had the pleasure of contributing to a styled wedding photoshoot at Nantclwyd y Dre, organised by Ariel in Blue Photography and designer Harriet Christelow. Alessandra’s ethereal photography style captured our flowers in the dreamiest light, and the dress created by Harriet was out of this world beautiful! It was such a joy to work alongside a talented team of creatives. We’re already looking forward to another project with them in October… watch this space!

Judging the North Wales Housing Garden Competition
This month, I was honoured to join the judging panel for North Wales Housing’s gardening competition. Meeting so many passionate growers and seeing the love poured into each space was truly inspiring. Whether small balcony pots or flourishing allotments, it was a reminder of how important growing — in any form — can be for wellbeing, wildlife, and community.

Growing & Harvesting
The field has been abundant with late-summer colour: zinnias, rudbeckias, cosmos, amaranth and so much more filling the buckets. The zinnias have been a particular highlight in their many spectacular colours. We imported our seeds from Floret Farm in America who specialise in some of the most unusual varieties. We can get quite giddy admiring most flowers but these ones are a particular highlight this season! They have loved the hot weather, unlike me!
With so many weddings, workshops, and events happening, we’ve been working fast to keep up — planting hardy annuals, picking flowers for upcoming events, and harvesting for drying. The drying rafters in the workshop are now overflowing, creating a magical forest of blooms: soft, layered textures, muted autumn tones, and the heady scent of flowers all around. It’s a feast for the senses and an inspiring backdrop for all the creative arrangements we have planned with dried blooms this year.

Flower of the Month
Zinnia — Bright, bold, and endlessly cheerful. Their vibrant colours bring energy and texture to our bouquets. We love the unique varieties we sourced from Floret Flower Farm. These resilient blooms are perfect for attracting pollinators and last beautifully in arrangements.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you as always for reading and supporting what we do. July has been rich in community and creativity — and there’s still plenty more blooming on the horizon.
