It's December and we're coming up to a full year since I signed the lease on this 1/4 acre plot of wasteland. It is hard to believe how much work has gone into turning a field of weeds into a profitable business growing such an abundance of seasonal British blooms. I am had the most incredible help and it really goes to show all it takes is lots of small steps. We still have a huge area of the plot covered in tarp held down with bricks to suppress the weeds, we have so much room to expand.

The month started at Nantclwyd Y Dre and Llanbenwch where we hosted Christmas Wreath Workshops. We sell a variety of wreaths which can be customised however our customers choose, but it is such a popular pastime to make your own. There is a lot of competition for wreath making workshops, everyone does them! But they are always popular, especially when hosted in such lovely venues. What more could you want than to spend a couple of hours in good company, making something to decorate your home, with all the tools and materials at your disposal and someone to clear up after you! You also get a lovely hot drink and a homemade cake!

We left behind a lush foliage wreath to adorn the door of Nantclwyd Y Dre. This medieval wood framed house is such a treasure in our town, it deserved to look its best for the winter season. I can't help but think about all the wreaths that must have sat there over the years! We also got a lot of love on Social media this month for a giant wreath we made for a friend.

At the end of the year you can’t help but reflect on your success throughout the previous months and one thing we are always grateful for is the customers that support us and the warm and generous community we live in. It was such a pleasure to take part in Llanfair Church’s Christmas Tree Festival, sponsoring a tree and decorating it with my sister's crochet decorations and my dried flowers. This was a nice end to a great year and so nice to walk around the church and enjoy all the other trees sponsored by local businesses.

We had a delivery of stunning red tulips this month and we introduced a winter bouquet in red or white which looked stunning in our Anvil Pottery vase.
The last event of the year was at The Barn Temple where we took part in the event ‘Return of the Light’ a winter solstice celebration which includes harp music, a sound bath and wreath making. Its always nice to know the nights have stopped getting longer! Spring is always just around the corner and we begin again.

We have decided to take a short break over Christmas (its not often I take time off but it has been such a busy year and we all need time to reconnect and decompress) so it is with a heart full of joy I wish all of my customers and supporters, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Garden Tasks - Cut back the leaves on your hellebores to stop the flowers that are about to pop up from getting black spot from the old leaves
Flower of the month - Paperwhites, the perfect way to celebrate Christmas and the return of longer days. Their scent is wonderful
